Castle Karlstejn Situated a short drive from Prague, the Karlstejn castle is a popular day trip destination from the Czech capital. Karlstejn is a gothic castle founded in 1348 by Czech king and Roman emperor, Charles IV as a safekeeping place for royal treasures.

Photography and video recording are prohibited in the interiors of the castle.

How to get there
Railway connection from Prague via Beroun (direction Plzen). Bus connection is not available by day trips are provided by a number of Prague-based travel agencies.
